About The classic
We successfully hosted our 11th Annual Steveston Classic basketball tournament this year. Basketball teams from squadrons all over the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island come together to compete for the championship and have their squadron name engraved forever on the trophy.

The classic Rules
Your team has 10 seconds to advance the ball over half
Standard basketball playing rules such as travelling, double dribble, over and back will be implemented.
On offence, a player is only allowed to stay in the key for 5 seconds
Once your team has over 5 team fouls then there will be bonus free throws even on fouls that are not in the act of shooting
Your team has 5 seconds for an in-bound pass
One 30 second timeout each half and one 30 second timeout for round robin games: They may be called in the case of a dead ball, made baskets or a free throw.
One foul shot worth 2 points (for a miss and foul) and one foul shot worth 1 point (for scoring and foul). If a player is fouled while taking a three pointer, the free throw will be treated as a technical foul: 1 free throw worth two points and possession for the team that was fouled
Technical Fouls:
The first technical foul will result in a free throw worth two and possession for the opposite team, the second technical foul will result in an ejection from the game
Allotted time for games
Round Robin: 1 minute warm up 8 minutes on court game
*The clock will be stopped during free throws and timeouts
Playoff Round: 1 minute warm up 16 minutes on court game (Two halves of 8 minutes each) 2 minutes intermission during half

All teams must have one cadet under 14, as well as one girl on the court at all times.
Only the roster of 15 and the coach will be allowed to sit on the game benches during the game. All members of your squadron and audience are to be seated or standing in the audience designated area.
Teams must prepare at least 2 different color shirts in case two teams wearing the same color are matched up
